Metal Forming

This course is designed to help the materials engineers understand the principles of metal forming and to analyze forming problems – both the mechanics of forming processes and how the properties of metals interact with the processes.

In the first part of the course the mechanical basis of metals plastic deformation is introduced, and in the second part four major bulk metal forming processes are discussed both in terms of technological points and mechanical analysis.
